HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, We have learned with sadness of the death of Sgt.
3 David M. Caruso of Naperville on November 9, 2004 in a
4 firefight in Fallujah, Iraq; and
 
5     WHEREAS, David Caruso was born on October 25, 1979 in
6 Winfield, the son of Gloria and Joseph Caruso; he graduated
7 from Waubonsie Valley High School in 1998; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He was an adventurous young man who set high goals
9 and achieved them; he was a natural leader, an athlete, and
10 scholar who was on the honor roll throughout his high school
11 career; he attained the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 16
12 and went on to earn three Palms; as an Eagle Scout he completed
13 a six-month community project by building a foot bridge in the
14 Greene Valley Forest Preserve near Naperville; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Sgt. Caruso fulfilled a lifelong dream to become
16 United States Marine in 1999; he worked in reconnaissance for
17 special operations and passed the Army Ranger School; he
18 enjoyed traveling and took advantage of the opportunities he
19 had as a Marine to see new places; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Sgt. Caruso served his country honorably during
21 Operation Iraqi Freedom; and
 
22     WHEREAS, The death of Sgt. Caruso is a great loss to his
23 parents, Gloria and Joseph Caruso; his brother and
24 sister-in-law, Michael and Tina Caruso; his extended family;
25 his many friends; and all the citizens of the State of
26 Illinois; he was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Caruso;
27 therefore, be it
 
28     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
29 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

1 express our deepest sorrow at the passing of Sgt. David M.
2 Caruso, that we offer our heartfelt sympathy to his family, and
3 that we join his many friends and the citizens of Illinois in
4 honoring his memory; and be it further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the family of Sgt. David M. Caruso.
