 1                     AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 18

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill  18,  on  page  1,
 3    line  13,  after  "tax", by inserting ", except for the motor
 4    fuel use tax,"; and

 5    on page 1, by deleting lines 19 through 22; and

 6    on page 1, line 23, by replacing "October" with  "September";
 7    and

 8    on page 1, line 24, by replacing "30" with "15"; and

 9    on  page  1,  by  replacing  lines  25  through  28  with the
10    following:
11        "The amnesty program shall provide that, upon payment  by
12    a  taxpayer  of all taxes due from that taxpayer to the State
13    of Illinois for any taxable period ending after June 30, 1983
14    and prior to July 1, 2002, the"; and

15    on page 1, line 29, after "shall", by inserting "abate  and";
16    and

17    on page 2, line 3, after "State", by inserting "for a taxable
18    period"; and

19    on  page  2, lines 5 and 6, by deleting "for only the taxable
20    periods specified in the application and"; and

 1    on page 2,  immediately  below  line  13,  by  inserting  the
 2    following:
 3        "Voluntary  payments made under this Act shall be made by
 4    cash, check, guaranteed remittance, or ACH debit."; and

 5    on page  2,  by  replacing  lines  16  through  21  with  the
 6    following:
 7        "Except  as otherwise provided in this Section, all money
 8    collected under this Act that would  otherwise  be  deposited
 9    into  the General Revenue Fund shall be deposited as follows:
10    (i) one-half into the Common School Fund; (ii) one-half  into
11    the  General Revenue Fund. Two percent of all money collected
12    under this Act shall be deposited by the State Treasurer into
13    the Tax Compliance and Administration Fund  and,  subject  to
14    appropriation, shall be used by the Department to cover costs
15    associated with the administration of this Act.".
