SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
25 ILCS 170/8   from Ch. 63, par. 178

    Amends the Lobbyist Registration Act. Removes the prohibition against contingent fees based on the passage or defeat of legislation or on the approval or veto of legislation. Prohibits contingent fees based on the outcome of legislative, executive, or administrative action.

1     AN ACT concerning lobbying.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Lobbyist Registration Act is amended by
5 changing Section 8 as follows:
 
6     (25 ILCS 170/8)  (from Ch. 63, par. 178)
7     Sec. 8. Contingent fees prohibited.
8     No person shall retain or employ another to lobby with
9 respect to any legislative, executive, or administrative
10 action promote or oppose legislation for compensation
11 contingent in whole or in part upon the outcome of the action
12 passage or defeat of any legislation, or the approval or veto
13 of any legislation by the Governor, and no person shall accept
14 any such employment or render any such service for compensation
15 contingent upon the outcome of the legislative, executive, or
16 administrative action passage or defeat of any legislation or
17 the approval or veto of any legislation by the Governor.
