 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  were shocked and saddened to learn of the deaths of
 4    Jarrett Berg Burkholder on March 3, 2003  and  Andrew  Robert
 5    Burkholder  on  March 5, 2003; both were residents of Elburn;
 6    and

 7        WHEREAS, Jarrett was born January 3, 1988 in St.  Charles
 8    and Andrew was born on February 15, 1986 in Aurora; they were
 9    the sons of Bob and Donna (Berg) Burkholder; the family lived
10    in North Aurora until 1990, when they moved to Elburn; and

11        WHEREAS,  Jarrett, an honor roll student, enjoyed soccer,
12    baseball, and basketball; he enjoyed in-line skating and with
13    his father had built a half-pipe and other ramps to hone  his
14    skills; he began playing chess in eighth grade; by the end of
15    his  freshman  year, he was ranked as one of the top freshmen
16    chess players in the State; and

17        WHEREAS, Andrew, an  honor  roll  student,  was  a  quick
18    learner as a child; he was putting together 300 piece puzzles
19    by  the  time he was three years old and was reading prior to
20    kindergarten; he enjoyed computer games and excelled in  high
21    speed   internet   games;  he  played  golf  and  was  senior
22    co-captain of his high school golf team; and

23        WHEREAS, The passing  of  Jarrett  and  Andrew  has  been
24    deeply  felt  by all who knew them, especially their parents,
25    Bob and Donna Burkholder; their paternal grandmother,  Jewell
26    Burkholder;  their maternal grandparents, Gale and Mary Ellen
27    Berg; their paternal aunts and uncles, Bev (Bob)  Paul,  Bill
28    (Susan) Burkholder, and Jim (Joan) Burkholder; their maternal
29    aunts  and  uncles, Howard (Irene) Berg, Alan (Veralee) Berg,
30    Dennis (Avis) Berg, Steve (Mary) Berg, Ron  (Liz)  Berg,  and
31    Diane  Berg;  their many cousins; and an endless back yard of
32    friends; therefore, be it

 1        RESOLVED, BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL
 2    ASSEMBLY  OF  THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that together with their
 3    families, friends, community, and  all  who  knew  and  loved
 4    them,  we  mourn  the  passing of Jarrett Berg Burkholder and
 5    Andrew Robert Burkholder, who were taken from  this  life  at
 6    such an early age; and be it further

 7        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 8    presented to the family of Jarrett and Andrew  Burkholder  as
 9    an expression of our deepest sympathy.
