AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 566

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 566 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4     "Section 5. The Tool and Die Lien Act is amended by
5 changing Sections 1 and 2 as follows:
 
6     (770 ILCS 105/1)  (from Ch. 82, par. 351)
7     Sec. 1. Lien. Plastic or metal processors or persons
8 conducting a plastic or metal processing business shall have a
9 lien on the tools, dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, forms or
10 patterns in their possession belonging to a customer, for the
11 balance due them from such customer for plastic or metal
12 processing work, and for all materials related to such work.
13 The processor may retain possession of the tool, die, mold,
14 jig, fixture, form or pattern until such balance is paid,
15 subject only to a security interest properly perfected pursuant
16 to Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code.

2     (B) The term "customer" means any individual or entity who
3 contracted with, or caused a plastic or metal processor to use
4 a tool, die, mold, jig, fixture, form or pattern to
5 manufacture, assemble, or otherwise make plastic or metal
6 components or products.
7     (C) The term "special tool" means a tool, die, mold, jig,
8 fixture, form, or pattern, or part used to manufacture,
9 assemble, or otherwise make plastic or metal components or
10 products.
