| AN ACT concerning government.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act is amended |
| 5 |
| by changing Section 1-105 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (5 ILCS 420/1-105) (from Ch. 127, par. 601-105)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 1-105. "Economic opportunity" means any
any purchase, |
| 8 |
| sale, lease,
contract, option, or other transaction or |
| 9 |
| arrangement involving property or
services wherein a |
| 10 |
| legislator may gain an economic benefit. The term shall
not |
| 11 |
| include gifts. |
