HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of Willie
4 Bester (Shane) Davis of Chicago on December 21, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Davis was born in Marvel, Arkansas on December
6 16, 1938, to Cooper Allen and Dollie Davis; and
 
7     WHEREAS, He grew up in Chicago and worked as an airplane
8 mechanic for United Airlines until he retired in 2003; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He was a practicing Jehovah Witness for nearly
10 twenty years; he loved life and enjoyed R & B music from the
11 fifties and sixties era; one of his favorite hobbies was
12 restoring classic automobiles; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He leaves his children to cherish his memory:
15 Traci, Sharon (Miller), Yvette (Craig), Shaun, Shane, Sherry,
16 and Laverne; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He is also survived by his 18 siblings: Don
18 (Ayanna), Juanita (Charlie, Sr.), Melvin, Dorothy, Vera,
19 Norma, Marvella (Ernie), Renear, Rochelle, Brenda (Jeffrey),
20 Cooper, Jr. (Bernadette), Jackie (Cheryl), Donald (Laverne),
21 Carolyn, Penny, Pattie, Daryl, Kenneth, and Jacquelyn; his
22 loving uncle, Wardell Cowens (Joann); his nephews, nieces,
23 cousins, grandchildren, and great-grandchild; and a host of
24 other relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
25     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27 we mourn the passing of Willie Bester (Shane) Davis and extend
28 to his family and friends our sincerest condolences; and be it
