HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of Glenda
4 Walton of Chicago; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Ms. Walton was born January 30, 1960, to William
6 and Lovie Walton, Sr., in Chicago; she was the twin sister to
7 Glenn Walton and the fifth child of eight siblings; and
 
8     WHEREAS, She attended Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Grade
9 School and Harlan High School; she graduated with honors in the
10 top ten of her class from Jones Commercial High School; she was
11 in her second year at Chicago State University where she was
12 majoring in child development; and
 
13     WHEREAS, She was active in programs at the Progressive
14 Baptist Church; she was a member of the Young Adult Choir and
15 served as secretary of the Sunday School for a number of years;
16 she later joined Merrill Avenue Baptist Church; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Ms. Walton was joined in marriage to Malcom Mills
18 in 1981; to this union was born a daughter, Amanda, who gave
19 her two grandchildren, Ayania and Mayon; and
 
20     WHEREAS, She worked as a Check Investigator at the Federal
21 Reserve Bank of Chicago for 18 years and as a Patient Account
22 Analyst for United Health Care Insurance for five years; she
23 did a lot of neighborhood and community work under the guidance
24 of State Representative Constance Howard, which she truly
25 enjoyed and loved doing; she loved life and giving back to the
26 community was a great joy for her; and
 
27     WHEREAS, The passing of Glenda Walton is felt by all who
28 knew and loved her, especially her daughter, Amanda Mills
29 (Michael); her granddaughter, Ayania; her grandson, Mayon; her

1 parents; her twin brother, Glenn (Linda); her brothers, Carl,
2 Robert (Annida), and William, Jr., (Tracy); her sisters,
3 Deborah, Yvette, Roxanna, and Marsha Armstead; and her nieces,
4 nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
7 we mourn the passing of Glenda Walton and extend to her family
8 our sincerest condolences; and be it further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
11 sympathy.
