HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, Crystal Lake Police Chief Howard Parth is retiring
3 on June 3, 2005; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Police Chief Parth was a graduate of the 162nd
5 session of the F.B.I. National Academy in 1990; and
 
6     WHEREAS, He began his career with the Crystal Lake Police
7 Department as a Patrol Officer in November 28, 1977; on July 1,
8 1982, he was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division;
9 on July 17, 1986, he was assigned to the position of Assistant
10 Supervisor of Investigations; on May 5, 1987, he was promoted
11 to Sergeant of Criminal Investigations; on October 3, 1994, he
12 was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned as Commander of
13 Operations, Patrol and Investigations; on February 20, 1998, he
14 was appointed Deputy Chief of Police; on October 5, 2001, he
15 was appointed Acting Chief of Police; and on January 18, 2002,
16 after rising through the ranks, he was appointed Chief of
17 Police; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He received the Public Service Award from the
19 Crystal Lake Jaycees in 2004; he was the chairman of the
20 McHenry County Police Charities "Shop with a Cop" program since
21 2000; he was a member of the Board of Directors for McHenry
22 County Police Charities since 1993, the Advisory Council of the
23 Suburban Law Enforcement Academy (College of DuPage), the
24 Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, the International
25 Association of Chiefs of Police, the Cook County Captains
26 Association, and the North Suburban Chiefs Association; and an
27 Executive Board member of the McHenry County Police Chief's
28 Association; and
 
29     WHEREAS, He and his wife, Shirley, have two children,
30 Bridget and Christopher; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we congratulate Crystal Lake Police Chief Howard Parth on his
4 long and exemplary career with the Crystal Lake Police
5 Department and wish him all the best in his retirement and
6 future endeavors; and be it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to Police Chief Howard Parth as an expression of our
9 admiration and esteem.
