HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Frank
4 Melvin Grego on Wednesday, August 24, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born in Greenville, Mississippi, to Roslie
6 and Samuel Grego; he was the beloved husband of Noel Russell
7 Grego for 53 years; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He was an educator and educational administrator;
9 he retired from Lew Wallace High School in Gary, Indiana; he
10 was also a community leader, serving as President of the
11 Chesterfield Community Council and Facilitator for CAPS, Beat
12 632; he was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and an
13 active member of St. Joachim Parish for more than 40 years; and
 
14 WHEREAS, Mr. Grego was a lover of history, philosophy, poetry,
15 and music; he held degrees in music, education, and educational
16 administration; he was the quintessential musician; he played
17 saxophone and clarinet and his preference was classical music
18 and jazz; he was, at one time, a choir director, and he loved
19 to teach; he taught not only his students, but all who met him;
20 and
 
21     WHEREAS, Sharing and caring are the two words he used most
22 often; his caring for his family knew no bounds; his neighbors
23 and associates were aware of his kindness; he gladly offered
24 rides to those who called and was always on time; and
 
25     WHEREAS, The passing of Frank Melvin Grego has been deeply
26 felt by many, especially his wife, Noel Russell Grego; his
27 children, Michael, Charles (Karen), and Noel Angela Martin; his
28 grandchildren, Brian, Martin, Damon, and Marie Grego; his
29 sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Vera Russell Allen, Pearl
30 Russell Frye (William), Patrick David Russell (Rita), and Hugh

1 Donvan Russell (Caroline); and he was the fond uncle of many;
2 therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5 we mourn the passing of Frank Melvin Grego, and we extend our
6 deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and all who knew and
7 loved him; and be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to his family as an expression of our sincerest
10 condolences.
