HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Donald
4 Wosczynski of Calumet City on October 5, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Donald C. Wosczynski was born on May 7, 1931 to
6 Helen and Kazmir Wosczynski in South Chicago; he attended St.
7 Michael's Grade School and was a proud alumni of Bowen High
8 School in Chicago; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mr. Wosczynski was a proud veteran of the Korean
10 War; he served his country honorably as an electrician poleman
11 in the U.S. Army; he was honorably discharged in 1952 when he
12 returned home to help his sister care for his parents; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Mr. Wosczynski began working for U.S. Steel South
14 Works at the age of 19 and returned to work there after his
15 time in the Army; he retired from that company after 32 years
16 of service; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Mr. Wosczynski married Magdalena "Leni" Soritsch
18 in 1963 and they became the proud parents of two daughters,
19 Claudia and Sylvia; he was a dedicated and supportive husband
20 and father who always made sure his family had what they
21 needed; and
 
22     WHEREAS, Mr. Wosczynski was a caring son and brother, a
23 loving husband and father, an understanding son-in-law and
24 nephew, and a dedicated friend; and
 
25     WHEREAS, The passing of Donald C. Wosczynski has been
26 deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Alderwoman Magdalena
27 "Leni" Wosczynski; his daughters, Claudia (Kenneth) Casner and
28 Sylvia Wosczynski; his grandson, Michael Casner; his sister,
29 Phyllis Wosczynski; his mother-in-law Barbara Soritsch; and a

1 multitude of other relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
2     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4 we mourn the passing of Donald C. Wosczynski, and we extend our
5 deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and all who knew and
6 loved him; and be it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to his family as an expression of our sincerest
9 condolences.
