HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives were deeply saddened to learn of the death of
4 Gerald "Jerry" Sinclair of Salem on January 28, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Sinclair was born September 17, 1932, in
6 Central City, son of Jesse A. and Thelma (Parmely) Sinclair; he
7 married Ellen Moore in 1950 in Odin, and she survives in Salem;
8 and
 
9     WHEREAS, He was the former president of Salem National Bank
10 and was the Marion County Democratic Chairman; he also was
11 former Illinois political director of the Paul Simon for
12 President Campaign and served as an administrative assistant of
13 Illinois operations to former U S. Senator Paul Simon; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Mr. Sinclair was a member of the Illinois Housing
15 Authority and was on the board of directors of the Southern
16 Illinois Health Care Foundation; he held memberships in the
17 Salem Country Club, the Salem Moose Lodge, and the Salem Elks
18 Club; he was honored as a 50-year member of the Odin Masonic
19 Lodge, along with having served in many community positions and
20 activities throughout his professional career; and
 
21     WHEREAS, In addition to his wife, Mr. Sinclair is survived
22 by his mother, Thelma Sinclair Deadmond; his son, Richard
23 Sinclair; his daughters, Tari Henne and husband Steve and Lea
24 Filson and husband Ronald; his brother, George Sinclair and
25 wife Alice; his sisters, Shirley McHaney and husband Lon,
26 Marilyn Sugg and husband Marvin, and Lorna Fisher and husband
27 Billy Joe; his grandchildren, Beth Grohmann and husband Brad,
28 Jana Zipfel and husband Zac, Kristin Henne, Andrew Jerald
29 Sinclair, and Ryan Lee Sinclair; and his great-grandchildren;
30 he was preceded in death by his father; and

1     WHEREAS, The passing of Gerald Sinclair is deeply felt by
2 all who knew and loved him, especially his family and friends;
3 therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
5 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6 we mourn the death of Gerald "Jerry" Sinclair, and we extend
7 our sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and
8 community; and be it further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to the family of Gerald Sinclair as an expression of
11 our deepest sympathy.
