HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois learned with sadness of the tragic and
4 untimely death of Michael Quincy Johnson on Tuesday, September
5 12, 2006; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson was born at Presbyterian St. Luke
7 Hospital on Tuesday June 2, 1982, to proud parents Sandra and
8 Michael; as an infant, he was baptized by Rev. Dr. Wilfred
9 Reid, pastor at St. Stephens A.M.E. Church; and
 
10     WHEREAS, He graduated from Beasley Academic Center in June
11 1996 and De La Salle Institute in May 2000; he attended Daley
12 College and DeVry University taking classes in Computer
13 Engineering; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Inheriting a strong work ethic, Mr. Johnson worked
15 seasonally as a Computer Technician for Tax Counseling Project
16 and as an Election Rover for the Cook County Board of
17 Elections; he had worked full-time at TYLin International for
18 the past year; and
 
19     WHEREAS, He experienced a rich family life and had many,
20 many friends; he enjoyed movies, all types of music, travel,
21 fast cars, and on occasion, going out with his friends; for his
22 24th birthday, he purchased his dream car, the 2006 Subaru WRX
23 STI; and
 
24     WHEREAS, The passing of Michael Quincy Johnson has been
25 deeply felt by many, especially his parents, Sandra Akbar and
26 Michael and Stephanie Johnson; his twin brother, Maurice; his
27 little brother, Benjamin; his grandparents, Mary Segrest,
28 Claudia Johnson, and Mr. and Mrs. Davis Fair; his
29 great-grandparents, Robert Lafayette Linear and Minnie Eunice
30 Johnson; his aunts, great-aunts, uncles, and great-uncles; his

1 cousins; his loving extended family and friends; and his
2 fiancée, Nhan Phan; therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5 we mourn the passing of Michael Quincy Johnson, who was taken
6 from this world much too soon, and we extend our deepest
7 sympathy to his family, his friends, and all who knew and loved
8 him; and be it further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to his family as an expression of our sincerest
11 condolences.
