SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
225 ILCS 100/19   from Ch. 111, par. 4819

    Amends the Podiatric Medical Practice Act of 1987. Provides that of the moneys deposited into the Illinois State Podiatric Disciplinary Fund, during each 2-year renewal period, $200,000 (rather than 15%) of the money received from the payment of renewal fees shall be used for certain scholarships, residency programs, and other expenses. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Podiatric Medical Practice Act of 1987 is
5 amended by changing Section 19 as follows:
 
6     (225 ILCS 100/19)  (from Ch. 111, par. 4819)
7     (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2008)
8     Sec. 19. Disciplinary Fund. All fees and fines received by
9 the Department under this Act shall be deposited in the
10 Illinois State Podiatric Disciplinary Fund, a special fund
11 created hereunder in the State Treasury. Of the moneys
12 deposited into the Illinois State Podiatric Disciplinary Fund,
13 during each 2-year renewal period, $200,000 15% of the money
14 received from the payment of renewal fees shall be used for
15 podiatric scholarships and residency programs under the
16 Podiatric Scholarship and Residency Act and the remainder shall
17 be appropriated to the Department for expenses of the
18 Department and of the Podiatric Medical Licensing Board and for
19 podiatric scholarships and residency programs under the
20 Podiatric Scholarship and Residency Act.
21     Moneys in the Illinois State Podiatric Disciplinary Fund
22 may be invested and reinvested in investments authorized for
23 the investment of funds of the State Employees' Retirement
24 System of Illinois.
25     All earnings received from such investments shall be
26 deposited in the Illinois State Podiatric Disciplinary Fund and
27 may be used for the same purposes as fees deposited in such
28 fund.
29     Moneys in the Fund may be transferred to the Professions
30 Indirect Cost Fund as authorized under Section 2105-300 of the
31 Department of Professional Regulation Law (20 ILCS
32 2105/2105-300).

1     Upon the completion of any audit of the Department as
2 prescribed by the Illinois State Auditing Act which includes an
3 audit of the Illinois State Podiatric Disciplinary Fund, the
4 Department shall make the audit open to inspection by any
5 interested person.

8     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
9 becoming law.
