AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2511

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2511 on page 3,
3 line 25, by deleting "and"; and
 
4 on page 3, by replacing lines 26 through 31 with the following:
5         "(D) has (i) completed a program of 250 hours of clinic
6     teacher training in a licensed school of barbering or (ii)
7     within 5 years preceding the required examination, has
8     obtained a minimum of 2 years of practical experience
9     working at least 30 full-time hours per week as a licensed
10     barber and has completed an instructor's institute of 20
11     hours, as prescribed by the Department, prior to submitting
12     an application for examination;
13         (E) has passed an examination authorized by the
14     Department to determine eligibility to receive a license as
15     a barber teacher; and
16         (F) has met any other requirements of this Act.
17     The Department shall not issue any new barber clinic
18 teacher licenses after January 1, 2009. Any person issued a
19 license as a barber clinic teacher before January 1, 2009, may
20 renew the license after that date under this Act and that
21 person may continue to renew the license or have the license
22 restored during his or her lifetime, subject only to the
23 renewal or restoration requirements for the license under this
24 Act; however, such licensee and license shall remain subject to
25 the provisions of this Act, including, but not limited to,

1 provisions concerning renewal, restoration, fees, continuing
2 education, discipline, administration, and enforcement.".
