SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Richard E. Jack of Herrin
4 on April 25, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Jack was born on May 20, 1952, in Herrin, to
6 Earl and Lillian (Brown) Jack; and
 
7     WHEREAS, He married Becky Atwood on November 16, 1974 in
8 Marion; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He was a member of Scottsboro Baptist Church; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Mr. Jack worked as a Correctional Officer at Big
11 Muddy Correctional Facility in Ina; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He served in the United States Navy from July of
13 1970 until January of 1987; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle
15 Association and found great enjoyment in riding his motorcycle;
16 he found peace in his poetry; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He loved his family deeply and was a wonderful
18 example of a devoted husband and loving father; he will be
19 greatly missed by his family and friends; and
 
20     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and an
21 infant brother, Eddie Jack; and
 
22     WHEREAS, The passing of Richard E. Jack is felt by all who
23 knew and loved him, especially his wife, Becky; his daughters
24 and son-in-law, Rachel and Bryan Covey and Renee Jack; his
25 brother and sister-in-law, Earnie and Deby Jack; his sisters
26 and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Dennis Gilbert and Tammie and

1 Charles Fricks; his step-brothers and their wives, Butch and
2 Charlene Parks, Tom Parks, Garry and Diane Parks, Steve and
3 Ethel Parks, and Jeff Parks; his step-sister and her husband,
4 Paula and Bill Anderson; his father and mother-in-law, Dale and
5 Patsy Atwood; and his brothers-in-law and their wives, Gordon
6 and Jo Ellen Atwood and Charles and Paula Atwood; therefore, be
7 it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10 Richard E. Jack and extend our sincerest condolences to his
11 family, friends, and community; and be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
14 sympathy.
