SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with regret of the death of Lawrence S. "Link"
4 Lindquist of Waukegan on Monday, April 26, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on August 8, 1920, in Geneva; his
6 family moved to Waukegan in 1925, where he remained a lifelong
7 resident; he attended West grade school and was a 1938 graduate
8 of Waukegan Township High School, where he excelled in
9 athletics; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Mr. Lindquist was married to Phyllis Ahlstrom for
11 56 years; he was employed by Johns-Manville for 43 years and
12 served on the Johns-Manville Credit Union Board of Directors;
13 he was a member of the JM Quarter Century Club and a former
14 member of the Swedish Glee Club and the JM Club; he had served
15 as an usher and councilman at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and
16 had been active as a coach in little league baseball; he was a
17 lifelong sports fan and an avid golfer during his retirement;
18 and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of Lawrence S. "Link" Lindquist has
20 been deeply felt by many, especially his children, Sally
21 Koziol, Susan (Robert) Epker, and John (Sharon) Lindquist; his
22 grandchildren, Kim Massimo, Tamara Ochoa, Debra (Charles)
23 Shields, Mark Koziol, Scott Epker, Jennifer (Randy) Dawes, Rob
24 Epker Jr., Michael Lindquist, and Rachel Lindquist; his 11
25 great-grandchildren; his four great-great-grandchildren; his
26 sister, Dorothy Johnson; his numerous nephews, nieces, and
27 friends; and his good neighbors, the Stanhope family; he was
28 preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; his parents, John and
29 Ingeborg (nee Carlson) Lindquist; his sister, Ruth Lindquist;
30 his grandson, Daniel Epker; and his son-in-law, John Koziol;
31 therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3 Lawrence S. "Link" Lindquist, and we extend our sincerest
4 condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
5 him; and be it further
 
6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
8 sympathy.
