SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were deeply saddened to
3 learn of the death of Robert John Biancalana of Elmwood Park on
4 March 9, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Biancalana was born on June 27, 1947, to
6 Albert and Helen Biancalana; he was raised in Elmwood Park
7 along with his brothers, Albert and James; he married Rosemarie
8 Small in August of 1992; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mr. Biancalana attended Washburne Trade School
10 and used his culinary skills in his family business, Elmcrest
11 Banquets by Biancalana, which has become a landmark in Elmwood
12 Park, providing many generations of families, friends, and
13 community members a place to gather; he was a hands-on manager
14 respected and admired by his employees; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Mr. Biancalana served in the National Guard from
16 1966 to 1971; he lived in Elmwood Park his entire life and was
17 committed to the community, serving in many capacities from
18 coaching little league to eventually becoming a village
19 trustee; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Hunting and the beautiful skies of Wyoming were
21 Mr. Biancalana's passions; he worked hard and played hard; and
 
22     WHEREAS, The passing of Robert John "Bobby" Biancalana will
23 be felt by all who knew him, especially his wife, Rosemarie
24 (nee Small); his son, Robert Jr.; his daughters, Christina
25 (Bernard) Barbaric and Andrea; his grandchildren, Elena and
26 Daniel; his brothers, Albert (Arlene) and Jim (Judy); his
27 in-laws Russell and RoseMarie Small; and his many nieces,
28 nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; therefore, be it
 
29     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL

1 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
2 Robert John Biancalana, and we extend our sincerest condolences
3 to his family and friends; and be it further
 
4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to the family of Robert John Biancalana as an
6 expression of our deepest sympathy.
