Makes appropriations for the expenses of the Department of Healthcare and Family services for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008:

    AN ACT concerning appropriations.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

ARTICLE 1

    Section 5.  The sum of $417,500,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Illinois Covered Fund to the Department of Healthcare and Family Services in support of the Illinois Covered Initiative.

Section 99.  Effective Date.  This Act takes effect July 1, 2008.
