SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
735 ILCS 5/13-202.3 new

    Amends the Code of Civil Procedure. Provides that the limitation period for an injury caused by "sexual conduct" or "sexual penetration" as defined by the Criminal Code of 1961 does not run during a time when the person injured is subject to threats, intimidation, manipulation, or fraud by the perpetrator or another acting in the perpetrator's interest. Effective January 1, 2008.

1     AN ACT concerning civil law.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by adding
5 Section 13-202.3 as follows:
 
6     (735 ILCS 5/13-202.3 new)
7     Sec. 13-202.3. For an action arising out of an injury
8 caused by "sexual conduct" or "sexual penetration" as defined
9 in Section 12-12 of the Criminal Code of 1961, the limitation
10 period in Section 13-202 does not run during a time period when
11 the person injured is subject to threats, intimidation,
12 manipulation, or fraud perpetrated by the perpetrator or by a
13 person acting in the interest of the perpetrator.
 
14     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January
15 1, 2008.
