SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 205/205-347 new

    Amends the Department of Agriculture Law. Requires the Department to conduct a feasibility study to determine the cost effectiveness of adding calcium nitrate to anhydrous ammonia tanks to make the ammonia worthless for methamphetamine production. The Department shall complete its study and report its findings and recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly by March 1, 2008.

1     AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Department of Agriculture Law of the Civil
5 Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section
6 205-347 as follows:
 
7     (20 ILCS 205/205-347 new)
8     Sec. 205-347. Ammonia; meth inhibitor study. The
9 Department shall conduct a feasibility study to determine the
10 cost effectiveness of adding calcium nitrate to anhydrous
11 ammonia tanks to make the ammonia worthless for methamphetamine
12 production. The Department shall complete its study and report
13 its findings and recommendations to the Governor and the
14 General Assembly by March 1, 2008.
