Amends the Communicable Disease Prevention Act. Provides that the Department of Public Health shall educate the public about human papilloma virus (HPV) and the availability of the HPV vaccine and promote immunization against HPV. Provides that the Department shall produce and distribute informational material regarding HPV and the HPV vaccine. Provides that the Department shall distribute the information through relevant Department programs and divisions. Provides that informational materials produced and distributed under the Section must include the recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and information regarding the availability of the vaccine. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning public health.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Communicable Disease Prevention Act is |
5 |
| amended by adding Section 2e as follows: |
6 |
| (410 ILCS 315/2e new) |
7 |
| Sec. 2e. Human papilloma virus education. The Department of |
8 |
| Public Health shall educate the public about human papilloma |
9 |
| virus (HPV) and the availability of the HPV vaccine and promote |
10 |
| immunization against HPV. The Department shall produce and |
11 |
| distribute informational material regarding HPV and the HPV |
12 |
| vaccine. The Department shall distribute the information |
13 |
| through relevant Department programs and divisions. |

| Informational materials produced and distributed under this |
15 |
| Section must include the recommendations of the Advisory |
16 |
| Committee on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease |
17 |
| Control and Prevention and information regarding the |
18 |
| availability of the vaccine.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
20 |
| becoming law.
