1     AN ACT concerning agriculture.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Beef Market Development Act is amended by
5 changing Section 1 as follows:
 
6     (505 ILCS 25/1)  (from Ch. 5, par. 1401)
7     Sec. 1. Legislative intent. The The legislature intends by
8 this Act: to promote the growth of the cattle industry in
9 Illinois, to assure the State and American public an adequate
10 and wholesome food supply and to provide for the general
11 economic welfare of both producers and consumers of beef and
12 the State of Illinois; and to provide the beef cattle
13 production and feeding industry of this State with authority to
14 establish a self-financed, self-governed program to help
15 develop, maintain and expand the State, national and foreign
16 markets for beef and beef products produced, processed or
17 manufactured in this State.
