SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
105 ILCS 5/3-7.5 new

    Amends the School Code. Provides that neither a regional superintendent of schools nor the State Board of Education may use a regional superintendent's authority to conduct a compliance audit of a school district or its schools as a basis for requiring a school district or school to implement an unfunded mandate that is not required by the School Code or any other law. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning education.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
5 3-7.5 as follows:
 
6     (105 ILCS 5/3-7.5 new)
7     Sec. 3-7.5. Compliance audit; no unfunded mandates.
8 Neither a regional superintendent of schools nor the State
9 Board of Education may use a regional superintendent's
10 authority to conduct a compliance audit of a school district or
11 its schools as a basis for requiring a school district or
12 school to implement an unfunded mandate that is not required by
13 this Code or any other law.
 
14     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
15 becoming law.
