HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Thomas J. Sedor,
4 principal of Infant Jesus of Prague School, on being named one
5 of twelve recipients of the National Catholic Education
6 Association's (NCEA) Dr. Robert Kealey Distinguished Principal
7 Awards for 2006; and
 
8     WHEREAS, His leadership and service during the last 26
9 years at Infant Jesus of Prague have shown why he was chosen to
10 receive the award; he is known as a man who is innovative,
11 dedicated, and a hands-on principal; he is respected by his
12 faculty and gives that respect back in kind; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Under his leadership Infant Jesus of Prague has
14 been recognized twice as a "Blue Ribbon" school by the United
15 States Department of Education, in 1999 and 2004; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Mr. Sedor was chosen from a pool of more than
17 6,000 principals; on January 26, 2007 he was presented with
18 this special recognition by the Office of Catholic Schools
19 during its Heart of the Schools Awards ceremony; on April 10,
20 2007 he will be honored at a special banquet during the annual
21 NCEA convention; and

1     WHEREAS, Mr. Sedor is acknowledged by his co-workers for
2 his vision for the future of the school, for his leadership
3 abilities, and for his care for the school; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Mr. Sedor earned his Master's degree in education
5 administration from Chicago State University; he is a recipient
6 of Archdiocesan awards for Leadership Recognition and
7 Catechetical Ministry; and he has earned the National
8 Association of Elementary Principals Leadership Award;
9 therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12 congratulate Thomas Sedor on being a recipient of the National
13 Catholic Education Association's (NCEA) Dr. Robert Kealey
14 Distinguished Principal Awards for 2006; and be it further
 
15     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16 presented to Thomas Sedor as a symbol of our esteem.
