HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate United States Air
4 Force Technical Sergeant William E. Kuehl on his retirement;
5 and
 
6     WHEREAS, Technical Sergeant William E. Kuehl was born on
7 July 20, 1968 in Jacksonville; he married Amy Young on December
8 7, 1991; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Returning to Illinois after high school, Sergeant
10 Kuehl entered the Air Force in July 1987 and attended Basic
11 Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas; upon his
12 graduation he was given a direct duty assignment to the 2853rd
13 Civil Engineering Squadron at Robins AFB, Georgia and began
14 training as an Interior Electrical Systems Apprentice; and
 
15     WHEREAS, In September 1991 he was assigned to the 10th CES
16 at Royal Air Force Alconbury in England where he worked as a
17 Joint Services Interior Intrusion Detection Systems (JSIIDS)
18 Specialist; he was named 10th CES Airman of the Year; in 1993
19 he was deployed to Aviano Air Base in Italy in support of
20 Operation Deny Flight, over Bosnia, providing support for U.S.
21 Marine and Air Force air crews; and

1     WHEREAS, Technical Sergeant Kuehl was deployed to Dhahran,
2 Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Desert Storm and also to
3 Port Au Prince, Haiti in support of Operation New Horizons,
4 building schoolhouses for Haitian children; and
 
5     WHEREAS, In September 1994 Technical Sergeant Kuehl was
6 reassigned to the 12th CES at Randolph AFB, Texas; in August
7 1998, he was reassigned to the 65th CES at Lajes AB, Azores
8 where he worked as the Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge of
9 Electric Shop; in May 2000 he was reassigned to the 81st CES at
10 Keesler AFB, Mississippi, where he worked as NCOIC of the
11 electrical sections for Zones 1 and 2; and
 
12     WHEREAS, In December 2002 TSgt. Kuehl was reassigned to the
13 375th CES at Scott Air Force Base, where he worked in the
14 Electric Shop as the NCOIC of Interior Electrical Systems and
15 also as Quality Assurance Evaluator and Electrical
16 Planner/Estimator for the Maintenance Engineering Section; he
17 deployed to Baghdad, Iraq and Iraqi Military Academy Al
18 Rustimiyah in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in September
19 of 2004; he also deployed to Ali Al Salem, Kuwait in May of
20 2006 in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom; and
 
21     WHEREAS, TSgt. Kuehl has received many awards and
22 decorations during his career, including the Air Force
23 Commendation Medal with 4 devices, the Air Force Achievement

1 Medal with 2 devices, the AF Outstanding Unit Award with 7
2 devices, the AF Good Conduct Medal with 6 devices, the National
3 Defense Service Medal with 1 device, the Iraq Campaign Ribbon,
4 the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism
5 Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal
6 with Gold Border, the AF Overseas Ribbon Short, the AF Overseas
7 Ribbon Long, the AF Longevity Service with 3 devices, and the
8 AF Training Ribbon; and
 
9     WHEREAS, TSgt. Kuehl will remain in southern Illinois with
10 his wife, Amy, and his daughter, Emma, during his retirement;
11 therefore, be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
14 congratulate United States Air Force Technical Sergeant
15 William E. Kuehl on his retirement and thank him for his long
16 and valiant service to his country; and be it further
 
17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy be presented to United
18 States Air Force Technical Sergeant William E. Kuehl as an
19 expression of our esteem and respect.
