HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Judith B. Pacey,
4 Champaign-Ford Regional Superintendent of Schools, on her
5 retirement on June 30, 2007; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Judith Pacey received a Bachelor of Science degree
7 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a
8 Masters degree and a Certificate of Advanced Study at Concordia
9 University in Chicago; and
 
10     WHEREAS, She began her career as a special education and
11 kindergarten teacher in 1969 in the public schools in St. Paul,
12 Minnesota; and
 
13     WHEREAS, In the 1970s and 1980s she taught in the Oak Park
14 Elementary School District and Berkeley School District 87; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Judith Pacey was a language arts consultant and
16 assistant director of the Educational Service Center in Rantoul
17 from 1990 to 1992; she was the Principal of Homer Elementary
18 and Junior High School in the Heritage Community Unit School
19 District 8 in Broadlands from 1992 to 1996; she became the
20 Assistant Regional Superintendent of the Champaign-Ford
21 Regional Office of Education 9 in Rantoul in 1996; and in 2003

1 she assumed the position of Regional Superintendent of Schools;
2 and
 
3     WHEREAS, Judith Pacey is a board member of the Children's
4 Advocacy Center; she is a past president of the Illini Reading
5 Council; she is the Legislative Committee chair for the
6 Illinois Association of Regional School Superintendents, as
7 well as serving on the GED Committee and the Health Life Safety
8 Committee; she is a board member of Lincoln's Challenge Academy
9 and a member of Phi Delta Kappa and Project 18; she is a past
10 president of Service Club; and she serves on the Technology,
11 Novice Teacher Support Project and Illinois New Teacher
12 Collaborative Committees for the University of Illinois at
13 Urbana-Champaign; and
 
14     WHEREAS, She and her husband, Charles "Chip" Pacey live in
15 Paxton; they have three daughters, Jill King, Wendy Biggs, and
16 Muffy Pacey, and three grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
17     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
19 congratulate Judith Pacey on her retirement and wish her the
20 best in her future endeavors; and be it further
 
21     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22 presented to Judith B. Pacey as a symbol of our respect.
