HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Heit family on
4 their farm, the Heirdom Stock Farm in Douglas County, being
5 named a Sesquicentennial Farm in 2007 by the Illinois
6 Department of Agriculture; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Hans Heit, Sr., also known as John Hoyt, was born
8 in Erfde, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany on August 28, 1828,
9 immigrated to the United States, and purchased the farm known
10 as Heirdom Stock Farm on October 6, 1857; it is located in
11 Section 10, Garrett Township, Douglas County; Hans Heit, Sr.
12 and his wife, Maria Thomsen Heit, owned the farm until his
13 death on April 22, 1897; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Hans Heit, Jr., son of Hans Heit, Sr., was born on
15 the farm on November 16, 1877; he and his wife, Dorathea Ritz
16 Heit, owned the farm until his death on October 24, 1950; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Orval Christoph Heit, son of Hans Heit, Jr., was
18 born on the farm on June 8, 1902; he and his wife, Leola Frahm
19 Heit, owned the farm until his death on March 16, 1974; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Lyle Dean Heit, son of Orval Christoph Heit, was
21 born on the farm on November 19, 1934; he and his wife,

1 Patricia Fisher Heit, currently own the farm; their daughter,
2 Crystal Heit Willoughby and her husband, Norman E. Willoughby,
3 and their sons, William Wade Willoughby and Michael Christoff
4 Willoughby, also live on the farm; therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
7 congratulate the Heit family and wish them continued success on
8 the Sesquicentennial Heirdom Stock Farm; and be it further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to the Heit family as a symbol of our respect and
11 admiration.
