HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Paul Lauridsen on
4 receiving the Illinois Alcoholism and Drug Dependence
5 Association's George Schwab Award; and
 
6     WHEREAS, The Statewide organization represents over 100
7 treatment and prevention organizations; the George Schwab
8 Award recognizes the individual who has provided the greatest
9 service, made significant personal contributions to the
10 organization, and used their leadership and expertise in the
11 development of public policy; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Paul Lauridsen served as the chair of the
13 Conference Committee, chaired the Licensure Regulations Review
14 Committee, co-chaired the Treatment Committee, served as a
15 member of the Board of Directors, and organized and moderated
16 several community legislative forums; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He has been Director of Clinic Services at
18 Stepping Stones for eighteen years; he previously was Manager
19 of Rehabilitation Services, San Antonio Association for the
20 Blind for five years; and Insight Project Director for the
21 Texas Commission for the Blind for two years; and

1     WHEREAS, He has a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from
2 Drake University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology
3 from Lycoming College; he is a member of the Board of Directors
4 of the Illinois Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Association and
5 chair of the Treatment and Recovery Practice Committee; he is
6 also a member and past president of the Southwest Coalition for
7 Substance Abuse Issues; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Paul Lauridsen truly deserves this honor for his
9 hard work and dedication to others; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12 congratulate Paul Lauridsen on receiving the George Schwab
13 Award; and be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to Paul Lauridsen as a symbol of our respect.
