HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Pete McLenighan on
4 twenty-five years as Executive Director of Stepping Stones; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Pete McLenighan has been a resident of Joliet
6 since 1965; he is a 1971 graduate of Joliet West, a 1973
7 graduate of Joliet Community College, and a graduate of Western
8 Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology
9 and with a Master of Arts degree in Management and Human
10 Resources; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Pete has provided leadership resulting in
12 Stepping Stones' recognition as one of the leading providers of
13 substance abuse services in the State of Illinois; he has
14 promoted collaborative working relationships among community
15 organizations to better meet the needs of individuals in need
16 of services from more than one organization; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He has served on the Illinois Alcoholism and Drug
18 Dependency Association Board for eight years, the Community
19 Service Council Board, and the Groundwork Advisory Board; he
20 has chaired the Governmental Relations Committee for two years
21 and chaired the Agencies United Board; and

1     WHEREAS, Pete was the recipient of the Illinois Alcoholism
2 and Drug Dependency Association Board's George Schwab
3 Distinguished Service Award; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Pete McLenighan is married to Renee and they have
5 two children, Nick and Rachel; December 15, 2008 will mark 25
6 years of service and an awards ceremony will be held December
7 12 to recognize the milestone; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10 congratulate Pete McLenighan on twenty-five years of service
11 and wish him continued success in his future endeavors; and be
12 it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to Pete McLenighan as a symbol of our respect and
15 esteem.
