SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
225 ILCS 335/6   from Ch. 111, par. 7506

    Amends the Illinois Roofing Industry Licensing Act. Provides that the expiration date and renewal period for each certificate of registration issued under the Act shall be set by the Department by rule (now, licenses shall expire biennially at midnight on June 30 of each odd-numbered year). Provides that a licensee whose license has expired or is on inactive status may have his or her license restored by making application to the Department in the form and manner prescribed by the Department (now, failure to renew the license before it expires shall cause the license to become nonrenewed and it shall be unlawful thereafter for the licensee to engage, offer to engage, or hold himself or herself out as engaging, in roofing contracting business under the license unless and until the license is restored or reissued as defined by rule).

1     AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Roofing Industry Licensing Act is
5 amended by changing Section 6 as follows:
 
6     (225 ILCS 335/6)  (from Ch. 111, par. 7506)
7     (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2016)
8     Sec. 6. Expiration; restoration; renewal of license.
9     (a) The expiration date and renewal period for each
10 certificate of registration issued under this Act shall be set
11 by the Department by rule.
12     (b) A licensee who has permitted his or her license to
13 expire or whose license is on inactive status may have his or
14 her license restored by making application to the Department in
15 the form and manner prescribed by the Department. (1) Licenses
16 shall expire biennially at midnight on June 30 of each
17 odd-numbered year.
18     (2) Failure to renew the license prior to the expiration
19 thereof shall cause the license to become nonrenewed and it
20 shall be unlawful thereafter for the licensee to engage, offer
21 to engage, or hold himself or herself out as engaging, in
22 roofing contracting business under the license unless and until
23 the license is restored or reissued as defined by rule.
