AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 620

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 620, AS AMENDED,
3 with reference to page and lines numbers of House Amendment No.
4 2, on page 10, by replacing lines 3 through 14 with the
5 following:
6     "(o) A water utility, municipality, or non-profit water
7 system that receives notice that a fire hydrant is inoperable
8 shall be required to report the situation to the unit of local
9 government on an annual basis and fire department or fire
10 district within 2 hours of receiving notice, and shall be
11 required to make repairs within 2 days. A water utility,
12 municipality, or non-profit water system that fails to notify
13 the fire department or fire district within 2 hours after
14 receiving notice that a fire hydrant is broken shall be fined
15 $100 per day to be paid to the fire department or fire
16 district. The penalty shall be waived if a delay in the repair
17 is unavoidable.".
