SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Catherine I. Mathis of Herrin, who passed
4 away on March 10, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born Nov. 19, 1920, in Kane, to Harold and
6 Freda (McAdams) Allen; she was united in marriage with Charles
7 T. Mathis on July 28, 1948, in the First Baptist Church in
8 Energy; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Catherine Mathis retired after 35 years as a
10 presser from Smoler Brothers Garment Factory in Herrin; she was
11 a member of First Christian Church in Herrin, Fin and Feather
12 Tuesday Night Girls, the Herrin Senior Citizens, and a
13 volunteer at the Herrin Hospital,; and
 
14     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her
15 sisters, Eloise Andrews and Helen Hamilton; her brother,
16 Delbert Allen; and her nephew, Mike Mathis; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Catherine Mathis is survived by her husband,
18 Charles; her nieces and nephews, Rosemary Mathis, Gale Mathis,
19 Billie Mathis, Brenda Mathis, Ralph William Mathis, Diana
20 Mathis, Tomi Christenson, Cheri Pritchard, James Mathis, Staci
21 O'Hanlon, Mike Warren, Gloria Helderman, John Clyde Allen,

1 Cathy Allen, Mary Allen, Tim Andrews, Roy Hamilton Jr., Paul
2 Richard Hamilton, and Linda Hamilton; her many great-nieces and
3 nephews; and a host of adopted relatives; therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6 her family and friends, the passing of Catherine I. Mathis; and
7 be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of Catherine I. Mathis as a symbol of
10 our sympathy.
