| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 |
| learn of the death of Dorothea Wilson Plummer Sheppard of |
4 |
| Litchfield, who passed away on March 14, 2007; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Dorothea Wilson was born on June 9, 1928, in Honey |
6 |
| Point Township in Macoupin County, northwest of Litchfield, the |
7 |
| daughter of the late Harry and Lydia Bishop Wilson; she married |
8 |
| John Plummer on June 12, 1947 and they divorced in 1978; she |
9 |
| later married Rodney Doebler on January 3, 1980; he passed away |
10 |
| in 1996; she married Floyd Sheppard on August 17, 1996, and he |
11 |
| passed away in 2000; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Sheppard was employed over the years by Brown |
13 |
| Shoe Company in Litchfield, as a waitress at The Supper Club, |
14 |
| and as a waitress and hostess at the Southern Air Restaurant, |
15 |
| both in Springfield; in 1980, she moved to Newaygo, Michigan |
16 |
| where she worked as a food demonstrator at D&W Supermarket in |
17 |
| Fremont, Michigan; she was a member of the First Baptist Church |
18 |
| in Litchfield; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, In addition to her parents and previous husbands, |
20 |
| she was preceded in death by three brothers: William, Carl and |
21 |
| Harry Wilson; and five sisters: LaVerna Wilson, Helen Snow, |
22 |
| Evelyn Durr, June Schmuck, and Purletta Woods; and
|
