SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Dorothea Wilson Plummer Sheppard of
4 Litchfield, who passed away on March 14, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Dorothea Wilson was born on June 9, 1928, in Honey
6 Point Township in Macoupin County, northwest of Litchfield, the
7 daughter of the late Harry and Lydia Bishop Wilson; she married
8 John Plummer on June 12, 1947 and they divorced in 1978; she
9 later married Rodney Doebler on January 3, 1980; he passed away
10 in 1996; she married Floyd Sheppard on August 17, 1996, and he
11 passed away in 2000; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Mrs. Sheppard was employed over the years by Brown
13 Shoe Company in Litchfield, as a waitress at The Supper Club,
14 and as a waitress and hostess at the Southern Air Restaurant,
15 both in Springfield; in 1980, she moved to Newaygo, Michigan
16 where she worked as a food demonstrator at D&W Supermarket in
17 Fremont, Michigan; she was a member of the First Baptist Church
18 in Litchfield; and
 
19     WHEREAS, In addition to her parents and previous husbands,
20 she was preceded in death by three brothers: William, Carl and
21 Harry Wilson; and five sisters: LaVerna Wilson, Helen Snow,
22 Evelyn Durr, June Schmuck, and Purletta Woods; and

1     WHEREAS, Dorothea Wilson Plummer Sheppard is survived by
2 her sons, John Plummer Jr. and his wife, Joyce, Terry Plummer
3 and his wife, Vanessa, and Robert Plummer and his wife, Donna;
4 her brothers, Arthur Wilson and Gerald Wilson; her sisters,
5 Alvira Radley and her husband, Tom, and Nelma Ridley and her
6 husband, Dennis; and her grandchildren: Julie Lading and her
7 husband, Phillip, Jennifer and Jason Plummer, Jana and Sarah
8 Plummer, and Audra and Lauren Plummer; therefore, be it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11 Dorothea Wilson Plummer Sheppard and extend our condolences to
12 her family and friends at this time; and be it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of Dorothea Wilson Plummer Sheppard as
15 a symbol of our sympathy.
