SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Isaiah Hudson, who passed away on October
4 1, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Isaiah Hudson was born on May 13, 1933; his
6 parents were Reverend William Hudson and Della Kinnard-Hudson;
7 and
 
8     WHEREAS, Isaiah Hudson moved to Chicago with his parents
9 and siblings in 1947; he graduated from Tilden Technical High
10 School in Chicago; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Isaiah Hudson worked as a supervisor and manager
12 of Kaplan Parking Facilities in Chicago and for Newark
13 International Airport in Newark, New Jersey for most of his
14 adult life; after his departure from those positions, he was
15 self-employed, selling household and personal items in his
16 community until he fell ill; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Isaiah Hudson was a member of New Mt. Zion
18 Ministries, where his sister was pastor; he assisted with
19 cleaning and security duties as a volunteer at the church; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Isaiah Hudson was preceded in death by his son,

1 Reginald, and his parents, William and Della; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Isaiah Hudson is survived by his wife of 52 years,
3 Ruth Waters-Hudson; his daughters, Tia Kelly Insley and Amira
4 Muhammad; his son, Daryl Hudson; his granddaughters, Angie and
5 Jajda; his grandsons, Steve, William, Anthony, Dwaye Johnson,
6 and Willie Gibbs; his sisters, Iona Paul, Queen T. Holman, and
7 Dr. Princella Hudson-Gilliam; his uncle, William Kinnard; his
8 sisters-in-law, Leona Harris and Vera Harris; and his many
9 nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 his family and friends, the passing of Isaiah Hudson; and be it
13 further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of Isaiah Hudson as an expression of
16 our sympathy.
