SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Emily Krupa (nee Steplyk) of Waukegan,
4 who passed away on August 20, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born on May 17, 1916 in Chicago; she
6 married Ted R. Krupa on June 28, 1943; and
 
7     WHEREAS, She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church
8 all her life; she was active and served as a member and officer
9 in many parish societies; she served as a member, president,
10 and held other offices with the Catholic Woman's Club of Lake
11 County for 59 years; she served on the Archdiocesan Mission
12 Church Building Fund for 43 years; and she led pilgrimages to
13 religious shrines around the country; and
 
14     WHEREAS, She served for ten years as medical mission
15 chairman on the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women (ACCW)
16 and received the Cardinal's Award in 1979 for her work; she
17 received an award for 61 years of service as an election judge
18 and other activities for Lake County; and she served on the
19 board for the Eye Care Center of Lake County from 1986 until
20 the present; and
 
21     WHEREAS, Emily Krupa was preceded in death by her husband,

1 Ted R. Krupa; her parents; two brothers; and four sisters; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Emily Krupa is survived by her children, Ted J.
3 (Joan) Krupa; Agnes (Richard) Christman, Peter (Dawn) Krupa,
4 Rose Mary (Jim) Calvert, James Bede (Diane) Krupa, and Paul
5 (Nancy) Krupa; her sixteen grandchildren; her nine
6 great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Gabris; and many nieces
7 and nephews; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 her family and friends, the passing of Emily Krupa; and be it
11 further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Emily Krupa as a symbol of our
14 sympathy.
