SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Dennis R. Cobb of Waukegan, who passed
4 away on February 19, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Dennis R. Cobb was born October 3, 1951 in
6 Waukegan and married Diane Killian in May 1984 in Waukegan; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Dennis Cobb was a policeman for the city of
8 Waukegan for 29 1/2 years retiring in 2005 as an Evidence
9 Manager and Patrolman; he was awarded the northeastern Illinois
10 crime lab "Friend of the Lab" given in recognition of superior
11 evidence handling; he was a former member of the Lake County
12 major crime scene task force and was also a field training
13 officer and evidence technician; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He was a member of the American Croatian Waukegan
15 Tamburitzans Club, Fraternal Order of Police, Illinois Police
16 Association, former den leader for the Boy Scouts, and had
17 coached baseball for the Waukegan Park District; he was a
18 veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam
19 era; he enjoyed woodworking, photography, videography,
20 remodeling, and volunteering at the Croatian Hall during Friday
21 night fish fries, but above all else, he was a dedicated
22 husband, father and grandfather; and

1     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert
2 and Martha; as well as his grandparents, John and Agnes
3 Nordigian; and
 
4     WHEREAS, The passing of Dennis Cobb will be deeply felt by
5 his wife, Diane; his children, Jaime (Kris Sturgell) Rukstales,
6 Julie (Brian) Hughes, Jennifer and Bryan Cobb; his grandchild,
7 Charlie Hughes; his sisters, Mari (Doug) Carlson and Lynn (Tom)
8 Butera; and his several aunts and uncles including his special
9 uncle, Peter Nordigian; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 his family and friends, the passing of Dennis Cobb; and be it
13 further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of Dennis Cobb as a symbol of our
16 sincere sympathy.
