SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Stella (Gawlik) Ptasienski of Park City,
4 who passed away on April 24, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Stella Ptasienski was born on January 17, 1911 in
6 Chicago; her parents were Frank and Josephine (Mateja) Gawlik;
7 she married Peter Ptasienski Sr. on August 17, 1929 in Holy
8 Rosary Church (now Queen of Peace) in North Chicago; and
9 together they raised 13 children; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Stella Ptasienski was active in the St. Elizabeth
11 Club at her church; she also enjoyed playing pinochle and bingo
12 with the North Chicago Senior Club and the Waukegan Park Place
13 Srs.; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Stella Ptasienski will be fondly remembered by her
15 family and friends for the many beautiful tablecloths, afghans,
16 and doilies she crocheted for her extensive family; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Stella Ptasienski was preceded in death by her
18 husband, Peter Sr.; her son, Peter Jr.; her daughter-in-law,
19 Joan; her one grandchild and two great-grandchildren; her
20 parents; and her two sisters; and

1     WHEREAS, Stella Ptasienski is survived by her children, Joe
2 (Joyce), Dan (Betty), Gene (Blanche), Jules (Kathy), Betty
3 (Doug) Lewis, Dorothy (John) Salo, Stanley "Stash" (Sharon),
4 Ann, (Dino) Massimo, Ceil (Jerry) Stankiewicz, Ed, Sally (John)
5 Melch, and Lorraine Holland; her 52 grandchildren and 106
6 great-grandchildren; her six great-great-grandchildren; and
7 her sister-in-law, Mary Forwe; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 her family and friends, the passing of Stella (Gawlik)
11 Ptasienski; and be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Stella Ptasienski as an expression
14 of our sympathy.
