Amends the Good Samaritan Act. Provides that any person licensed under the Medical Practice Act of 1987 or any person licensed to practice the treatment of human ailments in any other state or territory of the United States who, in good faith, provides emergency care without fee to a person while participating with local, state or federal law enforcement personnel in training or active duty missions, shall not, as a result of his or her acts or omissions, except willful or wanton misconduct on the part of the person, in providing the care, be liable for civil damages.

| AN ACT concerning civil law.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Good Samaritan Act is amended by adding |
5 |
| Section 25.5 as follows: |
6 |
| (745 ILCS 49/25.5 new) |
7 |
| Sec. 25.5. Physicians; exemption from civil liability for |
8 |
| emergency care. Any person licensed under the Medical Practice |
9 |
| Act of 1987 or any person licensed to practice the treatment of |
10 |
| human ailments in any other state or territory of the United |
11 |
| States who, in good faith, provides emergency care without fee |
12 |
| to a person while participating with local, state or federal |
13 |
| law enforcement personnel in training or active duty missions, |
14 |
| shall not, as a result of his or her acts or omissions, except |
15 |
| willful or wanton misconduct on the part of the person, in |
16 |
| providing the care, be liable for civil damages.
