Amends the Department of Human Services Act. Requires the Department of Human Services, in cooperation with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, to develop and implement a streamlined auditing and accreditation system to reduce the need for community providers to undergo audits from multiple licensing or accreditation systems. Provides that the streamlined system shall, to the extent possible, utilize one auditing group to provide uniformity from one organization to the next and from one year to the next.

| AN ACT concerning State government.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of Human Services Act is amended |
5 |
| by adding Section 1-37 as follows: |
6 |
| (20 ILCS 1305/1-37 new) |

| Sec. 1-37. Streamlined auditing. In an effort to reduce |
8 |
| administrative costs associated with multiple and duplicative |
9 |
| program and accreditation audits, the Department, in |
10 |
| cooperation with the Department of Healthcare and Family |
11 |
| Services, shall develop and implement a streamlined auditing |
12 |
| and accreditation system to reduce the need for community |
13 |
| providers to undergo audits from multiple licensing or |
14 |
| accreditation systems. To the extent possible, the streamlined |
15 |
| system shall utilize one auditing group to provide uniformity |
16 |
| from one organization to the next and from one year to the |
17 |
| next.
