1     AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Environmental Health Practitioner Licensing
5 Act is amended by changing Section 30 as follows:

7     (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2019)
8     Sec. 30. Endorsement. The Department may issue a license as
9 a licensed environmental health practitioner, without the
10 required examination, to an applicant licensed under the laws
11 of another state if the requirements for licensure in that
12 state are, on the date of granting the license, substantially
13 equal to the requirements of this Act. The Department shall
14 issue a license as a licensed environmental health practitioner
15 to any applicant who holds a Registered Environmental Health
16 Specialist/Registered Sanitarian credential in good standing
17 with the National Environmental Health Association. An
18 applicant under this Section shall pay all required fees.
19 Applicants have 3 years from the date of application to
20 complete the application process. If the process has not been
21 completed within 3 years, the application shall be denied, the
22 fee forfeited, and the applicant must reapply and meet the
23 requirements in effect at the time of reapplication.

2     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
