AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2494

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2494, AS AMENDED,
3 with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No.
4 1, as follows:
 
5 on page 4, line 22, by replacing "8" with "7"; and
 
6 on page 4, lines 23 through 25, by deleting "or has received a
7 School Choice Voucher in the previous school year"; and
 
8 on page 5, by replacing lines 7 through 18 with the following:
9 "qualifying pupil."; and
 
10 on page 5, by replacing line 25 with the following:
11 "School Choice Voucher"; and
 
12 on page 6, line 1, by deleting "qualifying pupil"; and

14     "Section 50. Longitudinal data system. Recognized
15 nonpublic schools participating in this Act must participate in
16 the longitudinal data system established under the P-20
17 Longitudinal Education Data System Act by disclosing data to
18 the State Board of Education for those students attending a
19 nonpublic school on a School Choice Voucher issued under this

1 Act."; and
 
2 on page 10, by replacing lines 1 through 4 with the following:
 
3     "Section 51. Funding. Nonpublic schools participating in
4 the School Choice Program must report the attendance of
5 students with School Choice Vouchers to City of Chicago School
6 District 299 in the manner requested by the district. Students
7 enrolled in nonpublic schools under a School Choice Voucher
8 shall not be considered enrolled in City of Chicago School
9 District 299 for any purpose."; and
 
10 on page 135, by replacing lines 8 through 15 with the
11 following:
 
12 "(H-5) School Choice Voucher Program Adjustments.
13     (1) Funding for City of Chicago School District 299 shall
14 be adjusted to account for the costs of the School Choice
15 Voucher Program established under the School Choice Act.
16     (2) Beginning in Fiscal Year 2012 and thereafter, the total
17 cost of the School Choice Vouchers issued under the School
18 Choice Act shall be deducted from the portion of general state
19 aid City of Chicago School District 299 receives under this
20 Section for that fiscal year.
21     (3) Beginning in Fiscal Year 2013, there will be an
22 adjustment to the general state aid calculation for City of

1 Chicago School District 299 to provide funding for the school
2 choice voucher program. The adjustment shall be (a) the sum of
3 the district's general state aid calculation pursuant to
4 subsection (B) and the district's supplemental general state
5 aid calculation pursuant to subsection (H) if the students
6 enrolled in nonpublic schools under a school choice voucher had
7 been enrolled in the district, less (b) the sum of the
8 district's general state aid calculation pursuant to
9 subsection (B) and the district's supplemental general state
10 aid calculation pursuant to subsection (H) excluding students
11 enrolled in non-public schools under a school choice voucher.".
