AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3222

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3222 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4     "Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by
5 changing Section 25 as follows:
 
6     (110 ILCS 305/25)
7     Sec. 25. Limitation on tuition increase. This Section
8 applies only to those students who first enroll after the
9 2003-2004 academic year. For 5 4 continuous academic years
10 following initial enrollment or up to 120 credit hours
11 following initial enrollment, whichever is earlier (or for
12 undergraduate programs that require more than 5 4 years or 120
13 credit hours to complete, for the normal time to complete the
14 program, as determined by the University), the tuition charged
15 an undergraduate student who is an Illinois resident shall not
16 exceed the amount that the student was charged at the time he

1 or she first enrolled in the University. However, if the
2 student changes majors during this time period, the tuition
3 charged the student shall equal the amount the student would
4 have been charged had he or she been admitted to the changed
5 major when he or she first enrolled.

7     Section 10. The Southern Illinois University Management
8 Act is amended by changing Section 15 as follows:
 
9     (110 ILCS 520/15)
10     Sec. 15. Limitation on tuition increase. This Section
11 applies only to those students who first enroll after the
12 2003-2004 academic year. For 5 4 continuous academic years
13 following initial enrollment or up to 120 credit hours
14 following initial enrollment, whichever is earlier (or for
15 undergraduate programs that require more than 5 4 years or 120
16 credit hours to complete, for the normal time to complete the
17 program, as determined by the University), the tuition charged
18 an undergraduate student who is an Illinois resident shall not
19 exceed the amount that the student was charged at the time he
20 or she first enrolled in the University. However, if the
21 student changes majors during this time period, the tuition
22 charged the student shall equal the amount the student would
23 have been charged had he or she been admitted to the changed

13 an undergraduate student who is an Illinois resident shall not

22     Section 45. The Western Illinois University Law is amended

2     Sec. 35-125. Limitation on tuition increase. This Section
3 applies only to those students who first enroll after the
4 2003-2004 academic year. The tuition charged an undergraduate
5 student who is an Illinois resident shall not exceed the amount
6 that the student was charged at the time he or she first
7 enrolled at the University as an Illinois resident if that
8 student first enrolled not more than 4 3 and one-half academic
9 years before or if that student has not earned more than 120
10 credit hours following initial enrollment, whichever is
11 earlier. However, if the student changes majors during this
12 time period, the tuition charged the student shall equal the
13 amount the student would have been charged had he or she been
14 admitted to the changed major when he or she first enrolled.

16     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
17 2010.".
