SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Calvin Dwayne Hunter, who passed away on
4 February 24, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Calvin Hunter was born on June 29, 1959 to Lucious
6 and Flabe Hunter of Chicago; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Calvin attended Beethoven Elementary School,
8 DuSable Upper Grade School, and DuSable High School in Chicago,
9 and Melrose High School in Memphis, Tennessee; and
 
10     WHEREAS, He worked as a mechanic for the Schaumburg Toyota
11 Dealership, as a porter for Enterprise Car Rental, and as a
12 driver for the Human Resources Development Institute (HRDI);
13 and
 
14     WHEREAS, He loved to play softball and bowl with his Robert
15 Taylor Homes family; he played on the championship baseball
16 team, "The Bombers", and championship softball teams "The
17 Safari", "SWAT", and "Van Dykes"; he was known as "the best
18 short center " ever; and
 
19     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his mother; his
20 nephew, Dyron M. Hunter; and his brother, Lucious Calmese; and

1     WHEREAS, Calvin Hunter is survived by his grandmother and
2 family matriarch, Lillie Davis; his daughter, Chonty D. Hunter;
3 his father, Lucious Hunter; his sisters, Illinois State Senator
4 Mattie Hunter, Bonita Ersery, Delores Hunter, Brenda Hunter,
5 Angela Hunter, Willie Ruth Lee, and Marilyn Davis; his
6 brothers, James Calmese, Curtis (Clarissa) Davis, Donovan
7 Hunter, and Eugene Hunter; his nieces, nephews, cousins, and
8 friends; and his best friends, Michael "Stu" Stewart and Larry
9 Reed; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 his family and friends, the death of Calvin Hunter; and be it
13 further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of Calvin Hunter as a symbol of our
16 sincere sympathy.
