| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Delores Yvette "Lois" Hunter of Chicago, | ||||||
| 4 | who passed away on June 25, 2010; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, She was born on July 12, 1958 to Lucious "Bilbo" | ||||||
| 6 | and Flabe "Bea" Hunter in Chicago and grew up in the Robert | ||||||
| 7 | Taylor Homes, Building 4947; she attended Beethoven Elementary | ||||||
| 8 | School, DuSable Upper Grade Center, and graduated from DuSable | ||||||
| 9 | High School in 1976; she also attended Harold Washington | ||||||
| 10 | Community College; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, She worked for the Human Resource Development | ||||||
| 12 | Institute for 13 years; she also worked for Heartland Alliance | ||||||
| 13 | and Management Planning Institute; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, She enjoyed playing softball with her sisters on | ||||||
| 15 | the championship women's team, "The Crushers", and volleyball | ||||||
| 16 | with her family and friends; she was in charge of the 4H Club | ||||||
| 17 | and assisted in the Summer Lunch Program as a volunteer; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, She was a kind, gentle, caring woman and mother; | ||||||
| 19 | she opened her doors to anyone needing help, a place to stay, | ||||||
| 20 | food to eat, or someone who needed to talk; her motto was "If I | ||||||
| 21 | have it, you have it"; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her mother and | ||||||
| 2 | father; her nephew, Dyron M. Hunter; and her brothers, Lucious | ||||||
| 3 | Calmese and Calvin D. Hunter; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Delores Hunter is survived by her children, Jarrod | ||||||
| 5 | (Jason), Cameron, and Ashlee Hunter; her sisters, State Senator | ||||||
| 6 | Mattie Hunter, Brenda J. Hunter, Bonita Ersery, Angela Hunter, | ||||||
| 7 | and Marilyn Davis; her brothers, James Calmese, Eugene Hunter, | ||||||
| 8 | Donovan Hunter, and Curtis (Clarissa) Davis; her grandmother | ||||||
| 9 | and family Matriarch, Lillie Davis; her cousins, nieces, | ||||||
| 10 | nephews, other relatives, many friends, and her good friend, | ||||||
| 11 | Charles Herron, father of Ashlee and Cameron; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
| 14 | her family and friends, the passing of Delores Hunter; and be | ||||||
| 15 | it further

| 16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 17 | presented to the family of Delores Hunter as a symbol of our | ||||||
| 18 | sincere sympathy.
