SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rena Mack; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Rena Mack was born in Wakefield, Nebraska; after
5graduating from Midland College in Freemont, Nebraska, she
6attended her roommate's wedding, where she would meet her
7partner for life, Gary Mack; after a 2-year, long-distance
8courtship, the couple married and moved to Springfield, where
9she continued to teach; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Rena Mack was a former press secretary for the
11Illinois Toll Highway Authority and DuPage County Board; she
12also served as director of communications and leadership
13development for the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in
14Naperville; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Rena Mack is survived by her husband, Gary; her
16children, Lindsay, Peter, and Andrew; her mother, Dorothy
17Anfinson; her sister, Willa Saltzman; and her brother, Rex
18Anfinson; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Rena Mack will be remembered fondly by her family,
20friends, and the countless students she taught for her gentle
21and optimistic nature, which endeared her to everyone she ever

1met; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
4her family and friends, the passing of Rena Mack; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Rena Mack as an expression of our
8sympathy.
