SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mark S. Lahey of Jacksonville, who passed
4away on September 11, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Lahey was born on July 1, 1950, in
6Jacksonville; he was the son of L. Bernard and Mary Tarzwell
7Lahey; he married Susan Haubensak on June 26, 1971, in Havana;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Mark Lahey served served his country with pride as
10a member of the United States Army, where he trained soldiers
11for operations in Vietnam; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Mark Lahey was the owner and operator of Lahey
13Machine in Jacksonville for 34 years; he also served as an
14engineer at the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired for
15the past 7 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Mark Lahey was a member of the Church of Our
17Saviour in Jacksonville and an officer and member of the
18Jacksonville Moose Lodge; he enjoyed riding his Harley trike;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Mark Lahey was preceded in death by his daughter,

1Brandy Lahey, and his father; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Mark Lahey is survived by his wife, Susan; his
3sons, Trevor (wife, Angie) Lahey and Brent "Buck" (wife,
4Amanda) Lahey; his grandchildren, Dylan Lahey, Jayden
5Hunt-Lahey, Ava Lahey, Aiden Lahey, and Declan Lahey; his
6mother; and his sister, Barbara (husband, Ken) Jackson;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10his family and friends, the passing of Mark S. Lahey; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Mark Lahey as an expression of our
14sympathy.
