SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

 

Appropriates $64,000,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the Department on Aging for funding an additional $1.70 per hour to be paid to vendors of homemaker, chore, and housekeeping services in the Community Care Program.   Appropriates $6,100,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Human Services for funding an additional $1.70 per hour to be paid to vendors of homemaker, chore, and housekeeping services in the Home Services Program. Effective July 1, 2012.

    AN ACT concerning appropriations.

 

        Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

 

    Section 5. The sum of $64,000,000, or so much of that amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Department on Aging for funding the following:

  An additional $1.70 per hour to be paid to vendors of homemaker, chore, and housekeeping services in the Community Care Program for the purpose of increasing, by at least $1.00 per hour, the wages paid by those vendors to their employees who provide homemaker, chore, and housekeeping services, in order to adjust for the statewide minimum wage increase.

 

    Section 10. The sum of $6,100,000, or so much of that amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Human Services for funding the following:

 An additional $1.70 per hour to be paid to vendors of homemaker, chore, and housekeeping services in the Home Services Program for the purpose of increasing, by at least $1.00 per hour, the wages paid by those vendors to their employees who provide homemaker, chore, and housekeeping services, in order to adjust for the statewide minimum wage increase.

 

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2012.
