Amends the State Budget Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that goal of the General Assembly and the Governor is that the appropriation amount for the next State fiscal year to the State Board of Education for school districts be enacted and become law before March 1, so that school districts are able to make informed budget decisions and not forced to give layoff notices to teachers and noncertified personnel when the school districts prepare their annual budget for their next fiscal year. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The State Budget Law of the Civil Administrative |
5 | | Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section 50-6 as follows: |

7 | | Sec. 50-6. Appropriations for school districts. The goal of |
8 | | the General Assembly and the Governor is that the appropriation |
9 | | amount for the next State fiscal year to the State Board of |
10 | | Education for school districts be enacted and become law before |

15 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
