Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Requires the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to adopt rules to include applied behavior analysis services provided by Board-certified behavior analysts as a covered service to individuals eligible for medical assistance; and to adopt rules for a behavior analyst certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board to participate in the medical assistance program. Effective immediately.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
5 | | adding Section 5-31 as follows: |
6 | | (305 ILCS 5/5-31 new) |
7 | | Sec. 5-31. Applied behavior analysis services. |
8 | | (a) The Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall |
9 | | adopt rules to include applied behavior analysis services |
10 | | provided by Board-certified behavior analysts as a covered |
11 | | service to individuals eligible for medical assistance under |
12 | | this Article. |
13 | | (b) The Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall |
14 | | adopt rules for a behavior analyst certified by the Behavior |
15 | | Analyst Certification Board to participate in the medical |
16 | | assistance program.

17 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
18 | | becoming law.
